In furtherance of the University of Ilorin’s mission of providing a world-class environment for learning, research, and community service; the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics was established as one of the five departments that make up the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. The department took off in the 2013/2014 session, following the National University Commission (NUC) Resource verification visit. Since then, the department has graduated over three sets of students awarded Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Surveying and Geoinformatics. The programme aims at exposing students to fundamentals of the development of Surveying and Geoinformatics and modern trends by equipping them with the basic theoretical and practical skills that can adequately cater to the needs of society in all the spheres of Surveying and Geoinformatics discipline (Surveying, Photogrammetry, Hydrographic, and other Geoinformation systems).
